We already know our customers are experienced, skilled and trusted members of the trade, and we are proud to serve you with an extensive range of industry-leading building products of the highest quality.

Our mission is to continue to provide you with the largest range of the very best, low maintenance building products and accessories, enabling you to create your best work with confidence.

In this article, we are shining a spotlight on some of our top products from our online shelves, as chosen by our customers.

Soffits and fascias:

Soffits and fascias are components of a building’s exterior that are often overlooked by the homeowner, but they play an important role in the protection and finish of the structure. They serve as a support for the roof’s gutters and also provide a finished appearance to the roofline. Both are important in protecting a building’s structure from water damage and insect infestations. Without fascias, rainwater can seep into the roof structure, causing rot and other damage. Similarly, soffits help prevent water from entering the attic and causing damage there.

We supply a wide range of both soffits and fascia in addition to providing all the tools required for installation. Our products can be ordered online for either delivery or in-store collection. We have an effective and useful visualiser tool which our customers are able to use to see what your soffit and fascia combination will look like in situ.

Whilst our product ranges are available in a variety of colours, if you aren’t able to find the colour your customer is looking for, we are able to spray our products to any RAL or BS colour. If you need a particular foil to match your project, please do contact us and will try our very best to help.

Window trims and finishing:

We proudly supply one of the broadest ranges of window and glazing products on the market. With a huge variety of window trims, skirting, architrave, window board, cills and hardware, we can assist you in delivering a high quality window fitting service.

Whilst our PVC window trims are hugely popular, largely due to their versatility and wide colour availability, aluminum window trims are rising in popularity. Notoriously tricky to source, we have a range on our online shelves available in three stylish colours and in a variety of sizes.

External cladding:

While we delved into further detail in our recent article, [“Trends and Techniques in External Cladding”] we simply had to include external cladding in the list of our most popular products. External cladding is becoming increasingly popular here on the South Coast, with anthracite leading the charge.

We stock a variety of cladding options including industry leading brands; Fortex and James Hardie (fibre cement cladding).

Sealants and adhesives:

At Edge, we want to make our customers’ lives easier and to support them as best we can in their livelihood and passion. In our mission to achieve this, we are committed to stocking a variety of accessories, which includes sealants and adhesives as well as a large range of hardware and tools to help our customers achieve the fitting and installation of this and more.

Whilst these are lower cost products, they are equally vital elements for every project. At Edge Building Products, we can provide everything you need – from silicone and cleaners to screws and lead flashing. You can browse our extensive range online.

Edge Building Products specialise in low maintenance, high quality building products for the trade, and, while we have touched on a handful of our most popular offerings, our vast product range also includes interior panelling, doors, decking and much more, across our website and three branches in Chichester, Croydon and Horsham. External cladding has become an increasingly popular choice over recent years for those who want to give their building projects a modern, stylish and high-quality finish that will stand the test of time. We discuss some of these trends and techniques in external cladding to give you an insight into the various options that are available.

As the leading low maintenance building product suppliers in the South East, we are at the forefront of the latest external cladding trends, supplying industry leading products to our customers.

What is external Cladding?

External cladding is a material that is attached to the exterior of a building to provide several functions, including increased style aesthetic.

Traditionally, external cladding materials were wood or brick. With new technologies evolving, plastic and composite materials such as fibre cement, are now more frequently used.

Cladding provides several qualities including protecting the building from the elements, improving its structural integrity, energy efficiency and insulation from noise. It also boosts its curb appeal and market value.

What different trends and techniques of external cladding are available?

Cladding materials come in a variety of styles, textures, and colours, and the wide options available give property owners a chance to enhance the aesthetics of their home.

Perhaps one of the most common and popular materials used for external cladding is fibre cement (a composite material). Made using cement reinforced with cellulose fibres, its popularity is largely due to its durability. Given its make-up, it is resistant to moisture, fire, and rotting, and it does not warp or crack (unlike some other materials). It can also be easily painted in any colour.

At Edge Building Products, we offer the James Hardie fibre cement cladding system.

The Hardie fibre cement plank cladding system is hailed as the ‘ultimate alternative to wood’. Made from resilient fibre cement, it still giv clients that desirable timber grain effect, or ‘New England’ style look and feel to their property exterior.

Meanwhile, PVC cladding is popular for its low maintenance requirements, as it does not require painting, staining, or sealing. PVC cladding is lightweight, easy to install and manoeuvre. At Edge we offer the Fortex Cladding System which is four times lighter than fibre cement. Alongside this, we sell Shiplap and Open V cladding products.

Fortex Cladding is made from a lead free, environmentally friendly formulation which is guaranteed for 10 years (T&Cs apply). With 10 colours available, all combining the innovative PVC benefits with an authentic, painted timber finish.

With our Shiplap cladding range, the overlapping boards are designed to create a tight seal that helps stop moisture and air entering the inside of the building. This tight seal can also create a sound barrier too. Comparatively, our Open V cladding mimics traditional wooden cladding with the grooves designed to offer a stylish and modern look. This adds depth to a building’s exterior whilst allowing for efficient drainage.

Why we think external cladding is a great edition to any property

Adding external cladding to a building provides a plethora of additional protective benefits to the structure, as well as improving energy efficiency, curb appeal (with a wide range of colours available) and in many cases the market value of a property. There seems to be little downside to adding external cladding to the home!

At Edge, we keep abreast of the latest trends and techniques in External Cladding to be able to supply the trade with a variety of options to suit individual projects. The majority of our cladding products are available for local delivery direct to site. Order before 3pm and you can qualify for Next Day Delivery (South East only Mon-Fri). The construction industry in the UK is one of the most regulated industries in the world. Builders and contractors are required to meet certain industry standards before they can operate here in the UK. These standards are necessary to ensure that building products are safe, stable, and durable. Builders and contractors must also comply with a wide range of other industry standards, including those relating to environmental sustainability, materials and equipment, and site security. These standards are designed to ensure that construction projects are carried out in an environmentally responsible way, and that the materials and equipment used are of a high quality and safe to use.

Using low-quality building products can lead to building faults, safety hazards, and maybe even the destruction of property long-term. It is therefore crucial to work with a reputable and reliable company who provide high quality building and glazing solutions.

In this blog, we explore the importance of working with high quality products and how we ensure this is a priority in our offering to you.

Using High-Quality Building Products Meets Safety Regulations:

Safety regulations are ultimately put in place to protect people and property. Using low-quality building products that do not meet industry standards can put the safety of workers, homeowners, and the general public at risk. At Edge, we prioritise safety by providing building materials that meet and exceed industry standards. This ensures that the tradesman who use these products can work safely without endangering themselves or others, whilst maintaining the safety of the property owners who will be using the buildings now, and in the future.

At Edge we understand that safety doesn’t end with the material themselves, and that is why we also stock surface protection and PPE. We know that site safety and cleanliness is vital in keeping your projects running smoothly. Our customers are often working to tight deadlines and under immense pressure to complete building projects. We understand that you don’t always have the time to go to multiple locations to pick up your materials and equipment. This is why that alongside high-quality building products, you can pick up gloves, dust sheets and surface protection film from us, saving you valuable time and resources.

Ensure Durability:

Quality building products are essential for building construction and repairs. Building with poor quality products can result in defects in the building structure, making it vulnerable to wind, rain, and fire damage. High-quality building products on the other hand, are designed, built, and tested to withstand various environmental factors to remain robust for years to come. Using high-quality building products ensures that the building will exist for many decades to come, protecting the occupants and their investments.

Many of the leading brands we stock offer guarantees on products, including Triton who offer a 10-year guarantee on their WPC Double Faced Decking range, and the Fortex Cladding products which are also guaranteed for 10 years (T&Cs apply).

Save time and money:

It can be tempting to use cheaper or low-quality building products to save money, but in the long run, this strategy can actually end up costing your business more time and money. Cheap building products often require more frequent repair and maintenance and can even cause you long term financial problems due to the need for complete renovations. Your reputation may also be at stake which is an important consideration in this competitive industry.

High-quality building products, on the other hand, may have a higher initial cost, but they last longer and require fewer repairs, thus saving time and money. We offer competitive pricing, and we are confident in the brands we stock. Together with our brand partners, we have a shared passion for supplying high-quality building products to you, the trade.

Edge’s commitment to high-quality products:

At Edge Building Products we are committed to supplying the trade with the very best products the industry has to offer. We have built strong relationships with our stockists and only supply high-quality, low maintenance building plastics for the trade which includes uPVC windows, doors, cladding, decking, home maintenance tools, hardware and more. A reputable company will also be able to provide expert guidance on the best products suited to your specific needs, ensuring you have the best possible materials for your project.

At Edge Building Products, we also pride ourselves on being able to offer support and informed advice and guidance to our trade customers, should they need it.
