Edge Building Products is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Cockett as our Head of Sales, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the building products and construction sector.
Richard began his career over three decades ago as a trade counter assistant at the Plastic Timber Company in Portsmouth. He later moved into sales roles for leading UPVC manufacturers, progressing into senior sales management positions within both PLC and privately owned business. His background gives him a strong understanding of market needs, customer expectations, and the importance of developing knowledgeable, confident sales teams.
In joining Edge, Richard will focus on strengthening team capability from day one. A key priority in his first months will be enhancing staff product training to ensure the team is equipped with deep product knowledge and the confidence to support customers effectively.
Reflecting on his new role, Richard added:
I’m looking forward to getting back to basics, bringing a more traditional, relationship-focused sales approach, and reconnecting with customers I’ve worked with over the past 30 years.
