We’re so excited about our new collaboration with Britmet Roofing – bringing more fantastic, low maintenance products to our already wide range.
Building projects are stressful, but our main aim is to allow you to walk away from your completed project with the ultimate peace of mind about the products you have installed.
Introducing Britmet
Britmet Lightweight Roofing is a family-run business, and is the largest UK manufacturer of lightweight roofing products. They have been supplying the market since 1976 with an expanding variety of lightweight roofing products.
All of Britmet’s products are stocked in their 70,000sqft warehouse in Tipton, West Midlands, to meet supply demand from countless contractors, architects, specifiers and more who are reaping the benefits of using Britmet Lightweight Roofing rather than traditional slate and concrete tiles.
Liteslate
Britmet’s Liteslate was established in 2019, and is an innovative synthetic slate roofing tile made from 90% recycled polymers, polypropylene & limestone, with all the qualities you can expect from a traditional slate tile. Liteslate presents an authentic finish with riven edges, with traditional colour choices and incredible durability.
They used real Welsh slate tiles in the designing process in order to perfect the aesthetics and performance qualities of the LiteSlate product. However, unlike natural slate, as a synthetic slate roofing tile, Liteslate won’t crack, break, chip or deteriorate due to its ground-breaking design and cutting-edge manufacturing process. Furthermore, the LiteSlate is designed with the environment in mind. Over 90% of the Polymers that LiteSlate is made from are recycled. In 2021, Britmet recycled over three million kilograms of polypropylene during the Liteslate manufacturing process. Liteslate also passed its fire testing with BS476-3 Fire Rating in the summer of 2019.
14 Liteslate tiles are made every 45 seconds!
As Liteslate tiles are compression moulded, they have detailed impressions to instruct the installer as to where to fix the slate making it even easier for DIY installation. It is also easy to cut as you only require a sharp, fine-tooth saw or sharp blade.
Liteslate tiles are a perfect solution in most applications, whether is educational buildings, Commercial buildings, Flat to pitch, Community centres, Vertical cladding, Holiday homes, Park homes, Camping pods, Stables Conservatories, Lean to’s or Garages – Liteslate will stand up to the test of time, strength and durability.
Authentic
Liteslate tiles are made to look as similar to genuine slate tiles as possible, meaning they can replace old, cracked slates on a traditional property, or simply add character to a more modern project!
Sustainable
Sustainability is one of the main reasons that Britmet decided to create the Liteslate Roof tile. It is made with polymers that are 90% recycled, and at the end of their extremely long life-time, Liteslate tiles can be recycled again.
Lightweight
Liteslate tiles are extremely lightweight, making them easier to store and transport to and around your projects. You’ll find that Liteslate tiles are a dream to install too – no lugging heavy tiles up ladders with the risk of them dropping and cracking.
