Small bathroom ideas – making use of space with our products

Having a small bathroom to fit out can be challenging. Depending on what you decide to have in your bathroom, the consideration for space and positioning of the shower, basin and toilet is important – so that the small space is used in the most efficient way possible. In this blog, we’ve put together some ideas and trends for small bathrooms alongside some of our products to help you deliver a great bathroom with the space you have available.

Contemporary Bathroom Ideas

Interior Cladding

Our Roomliner wall and ceiling cladding is a fantastic solution for a small bathroom. It doesn’t need grouting and is super easy to install. Smaller bathrooms often have trouble with condensation build up ruining any softer or painted surfaces – luckily, our Roomliner wall and ceiling panels actually reduce condensation!

The cladding panels come at 1000 x 2400mm, so if your bathroom is small, you won’t need to buy lots of panels to clad the whole room – saving money and space!

Cladding Installation

Installing our Roomliner cladding couldn’t be easier, and we have all the necessary sealants and trims to compliment the job. Our Stay Fresh Anti Mould Food Safe Silicone and Sanitary Silicone are perfectly matched to a bathroom cladding installation as they both contain anti-fungal agent, so prevent mould and discolouration happening to areas which are most exposed to water splashes.

Glazing

When possible, its best to have as much natural light into a bathroom as you can. Try to allow wall space for a window to be installed, if there isn’t one already there, as this will aid ventilation as well as light levels. There are also many options of privacy glass for bathrooms – satin, reeded and many other glass designs to suit your bathroom.

Of course, when installing a window, you will need window trims to match the window, so that the finished job is neat, tidy, and resistant to mould from the moisture levels in the room.

Get your windows, privacy glass and trims from Edge Building Products – and did we forget to mention that our window trims can be sprayed to any RAL or BS colour?

Maintenance

Bathrooms are certainly not the most enjoyable area in the house to clean – but using our interior cladding products will mean cleaning is so much easier.  Plus, we have the ideal Glass and Mirror cleaner and Soudal Multi Cleaner Active Cleaner which both work amazingly on the glass and mirror elements of the bathroom, eliminating mould and streaks without much scrubbing at all!

Ideas and trends

Looking at the bathroom designs of 2022, we can see a few trends that have risen in popularity. In a small bathroom, it might seem hard to portray styles and designs in the limited space – but some trends we have found make the bathroom more bold and some make it seem more spacious

1. Statement marbles

One of the popular trends at the moment is having a continuous, bold marble pattern throughout floor and walls, this is highly achievable with our low maintenance, marble-effect interior panelling. Statement marble detail brings a luxury feel and opulent texture to a bathroom space, whatever the size

2. Plants aplenty

We’ve noticed that plants are becoming a more integral part of bathroom design, as they bring nature indoors and are almost a symbol of personal wellbeing. Bringing plants into your small bathroom will make it  a spa-like sanctuary, whilst providing a focal point to punctuate the space. Even just a small plant on the window cill or by the basin can do tonnes for the room

3. Walk-in showers

Another popular trend that we discovered was having wet rooms or walk-showers with no shower screen and larger showing spaces. Gone are the small enclosed shower cubicles.
