Here at Edge, we have an extensive range of roof glazing systems – something to suit every property and preference. We have given you a little insight into each of our systems in this article.
Aluminium Capped System
The Alu-capped system is an aluminium roof glazing system and provides a versatile platform for timber-framed conservatories and orangeries (pitched roof glazing systems). The wide range of components will ensure that there is an exact solution for your project, and you can be reassured of excellent aesthetics and uncompromised weather resistance.
Careful design consideration means that our aluminium capped system leaves no exposed screw heads and is completely sealed using mechanical methods. Extruded from high-quality aluminium, the system is stocked in white and brown polyester powder coat finishes. Any RAL colour can be achieved by using our bespoke roof glazing bars coating service.
Snap Down System
Our snap-down roof glazing system units help with ease and speed of fitting together with an affordable price tag, making it the perfect solution for lean-to shelters and conservatories where polycarbonate sheeting is being used.
Self-Support System
Our self-support system has been designed to allow for all window and door frame thicknesses from 60mm to 70mm. The integral frame clip adjusts to fit the frame size, giving a good weather seal against the window frame and a pleasing finish

Performance Roof Glass
Our range of performance roof glass offers the very best in glass roof glazing systems. All glass is toughened and is available in several different options as shown below.
Self-Cleaning
A coating that reacts with UV rays in sunlight causes a photocatalytic process that loosens and breaks down organic dirt particles on the surface of the glass. The surface of the coating is hydrophilic. Therefore, instead of forming droplets, it attracts water so that it spreads and forms a thin film that ‘sheets’ away quickly and dries off without leaving unsightly ‘drying spots’. Self-cleaning glass leaves less dirt and grime adhering to the glass resulting in the glass staying cleaner for longer, meaning less maintenance is needed.
Solar Control
As its name suggests, solar control glass helps regulate the amount of solar energy that enters a building. Solar control glass saves money by reducing the amount of energy used by heating and air conditioning systems and boosts comfort levels inside the building by controlling indoor temperatures and light levels.
Tint Colour
Roof glass is available in 5 different tint colours as shown below:
Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate has long been the material of choice for roof glazing. It offers exceptional strength to weight ratio and is easy to cut on-site (we have a cutting service available).
