There are so many options when it comes to silicone, decorators caulk, fillers and adhesives, that it becomes quite difficult to find the perfect solution for your project. We have such a wide range of sealants and adhesives at Edge, but every single tube and tub has its own special qualities. To help you discover the best one for you, we’ve clarified the uses and unique features of our range in this blog.

Parasilico

Parasilico AM85-1 Low Modulus Neutral Silicone

Parasilico has neutral oxime curing, 1-component weather-seal silicone sealant (RTV-1) which helps it to achieve excellent adhesion to almost all building materials. It’s very easy to apply and has permanent elasticity whilst being highly resistant to ageing, weather conditions and UV rays. With strong adhesive strength, Parasilico cane used without primer on most building and engineering materials such as treated and untreated wood, aluminium, steel, PVC, and glass.The low modulus neutral silicone can also be used on alkali surfaces like concrete, and bricks following a primer application. Parasilico sits in the middle of our range when it comes to price.

Soudal

Professional Low Modulus Neutral Silicone

LMN silicone from Soudal achieves a primer-less adhesion on most surfaces and conforms to ISO 11600 F&G 25 LM. We have an extensive colour range to offer to match every aspect of your project that needs silicone. Use our Soudal LMN silicone in glazing, construction and industrial sealing applications to seal window or door frames, roofline and drainage systems, interior panels, skirting boards, plasterboard, staircases, architrave and coving. This low modulus silicone can be used in most glass applications – except self-cleaning types.

Stay Fresh Anti Mould Food Safe Silicone

 Our ultimate anti-mould sealant contains powerful anti-fungicidal agents. Stay Fresh silicone is very fast to skin over and cure and is very thick, which provides a good strong bond for your kitchen or bathroom. It’s another primerless adhesive in our range and is highly elastic and resistant to UV, rain, snow and temperature fluctuation.

Decorators Caulk/Acrylic Gap Filler

Our acrylic polymer-based sealant and filler is solvent free and virtually odourless. It’s fast to cure and very easy to apply. What’s so great about caulk is that it can be painted over after curing, helping you to achieve pristine surfaces. Use our decorator caulk for sealing gaps around internal window and door frames, skirting boards, plasterboard, staircases, architrave, coving and other surface cracks in your project. Our decorators caulk is one of the cheapest sealants in our range!

Lead Sealant

Soudalead PB is our low modulus neutral cure silicone sealant and filler for use on lead. It keeps its colour permanently and is UV, moisture and age resistant. Soudalead is MEKO free and compatible with all lead types and achieves a good adhesion on many metals. Perfect for your installation of lead flashings!

Mirror Bond Adhesive

 Mirror bond adhesive is a hybrid Polymer based mirror adhesive with high and strong initial tack for the flexible bonding of mirrors many surfaces. It’s non-staining, therefore suitable for application on natural stone, which is often installed in bathrooms. Mirror bond can be applied to damp surfaces, is virtually odourless and achieves an excellent primerless adhesion on most surfaces.

Repair Express Cement HD Filler for Exterior

 Have you got an annoying crack in your brick or concrete wall? Our acrylic sealant has a granular structure like cement and has been designed to help you fix that annoying flaw. Repair Express is a high-speed acrylic polymer-based, textured repair cement which you can use for easy and quick reparation or filling of joints and cracks in concrete. It can be applied by trowel or gun and is sandable and over-paintable once dried. Repair express sits at a low-mid range price in comparison with some of our other sealants.

All-Weather Sealant

 All Weather Sealant is a very handy transparent solvent based weatherproof sealant which adheres to all types of surfaces, even greasy and bituminous, even when immersed in water. This sealant works amazingly for emergency repairs during rainfall and sealing of leaks and gaps with limited joint movement.

 A similar product to this is our Soudagum Hydro Waterproof Repair Coating – which is also suitable for a broad range of applications from roof & gutter repair to general sealing and protection of interior and exterior joints, gaps and cracks.

Soudal – Fix All

Fix All High Tack Adhesive

Another Hybrid polymer sealant adhesive, which is a Super strong sealant and adhesive with high initial tack and end strength (320kg/10cm²!). Fix All High Tack is Based on SMX Polymer Technology and achieves high-performance flexible bonding and sealing of all types of porous and non-porous materials onto almost any surface, whatever the moisture level! High Tack contains the XS1 fungicide providing the ultimate resistance against mould growth.

Stelmax

Stelmax 1965 + 1961 Gapfiller & Sealant 

Stelmax 1961 and 1965 are both easily applied PVC resin, pigment, plasticiser, and solvent mixes that are available in a wide range of colours to suit your project. They will gap fill and bond readily to form maintenance-free joints with exceptional strength. 1961 and 1965 products are window fitters’ favourites for the installation of window and door frames.



Stelmax 1961 has a greater solid content than 1965 and is designed to fill bigger gaps. More typically, 1961 would be used for providing a seal between the window frame and the surround, whilst 1965, which has smaller gap filling properties, would be used to provide a seal the within the window frame – making them a perfect set to purchase for your window fitting project. Due to the impressive performance of stelmax 1961 and 1965, these sit in the mid-high price range.

Expanding foam

Within in our sealants and adhesives range, we also have an array of expanding foams for many applications, check them out!

We have the tools you need to complete your sealing jobs – the OX Pro Dual Thrust Sealant Gun is a pretty meaty tool with a Rigid polymer handle for strength and durability and a steel pin on underside for puncturing dried caulk. We also have the simple cox Skeleton Gun which operates 400ml tubes, and a robust Metal Foam applicator Gun for some of our expanding foam cans.
